Next September 11th 2009 at 6.30pm, The Gabarron Foundation-Carriage House Center for the Arts in loving memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks in New York on September 11th 2001, has organized a recital by Spanish violinist Laura Esnaola and other musicians. We are pleased to organize our third concert as member of The September Concert Foundation’s initiative. This institution promotes from 2002 free concerts in all areas of our city, our nation, our world, for the sole purpose of organizing them in remembrance of September 11th and spread a message of peace through music on every anniversary.

Gabriel Taubman is a violist who lives in Brooklyn.  He participates in a wide range of ensembles, from string quartets to accordion-melodica-marimba-violin-viola-cello-organ-piano-toy-piano detects. Juliana Pereira, a Brown University graduate, combines her passion for music with her interests in other arts. She enjoys playing in all kinds of chamber music ensembles and orchestras in New York.

About the Concert

Bach’s Chaconne is considered a pinnacle of the solo violin repertoire in which it covers every aspect of violin-playing known during Bach's time and thus it is among the most difficult pieces to play for that instrument. Scholars suggested Bach wrote the Chaconne in loving memory of his first wife, Maria Barbara Bach. Mozart’s String Quartet no.19 is perhaps the most famous of his quartets and is nicknamed “Dissonance” on account of its unusual slow introduction. This quartet is one of the six "Haydn" Quartets published in 1785 in Vienna.

The Gabarron Foundation-Carriage House Center for the Arts is a non-profit institution and an exclusive international center specialized in art exhibitions and other cultural activities. From 2002, our main objective has been promoting the exchange and understanding between Spanish and American cultures, becoming to be an excellent platform to spread both and consolidating the ties that bond us.
